The Latest: The recording has now been completed and the mixing is well underway, with 8 out of the 15 new tracks ready for mastering. Elaine has completed all the album artwork, which includes detailed, full colour images of the 4 mythical prog characters. Promotional reels and a very interesting podcast have been produced. We will be choosing several tracks to release as singles. We are also preparing a Crowdfunding web site to launch, to allow us to raise the funds we will need to manufacture the physical albums. As part of that, we are also creating some special merch and other items to offer in return for higher value donations… We will be fixing the actual, proposed album release date soon… Project Production: Our recording process is for Elaine and Keith to demo map the songs at Keith’s music studio. This allows us to get the tempos we want and provides a guide track. During the demo mapping stage, quite a bit of composition and arrangement goes on. The band are shown the demos and we pick some numbers to rehearse together, for arranging and performing them live. The next stage is for Paul to lay down his drum tracks, in his bespoke recording studio (shown above) on the numbers we have rehearsed and fixed arrangements for. Keith lays down his bass tracks in his own studio and sends them to Paul to add to the master recording.

Demo Mapping
Elaine worked with Keith on arranging, composing and demo mapping all the songs. Keith experimented with sound design to handle some of the magical elements of our story’s sounds. He has composed some fantastic soundscapes, including a fabulous Stuckfish generated gong sound! Elaine had discussions with Philip Stuckey, from “Stuckfish” as to the nature of the “Stuckfish” and he advised her that a sort of fish version of a unicorn would be appropriate. The Stuckfish has become a very significant part of the story with some amazing powers! Take a look and have a read here. The team gave good demo versions of the songs involving the four other prog rock bands and their magical creatures, to their respective bands, in July 2024. Each band listened to these and has added some of their own musical uniqueness to the numbers to help really bring their magical characters to life! In order in the story we have:- Song - Magical Creature - Band Into The Woods - Treebeard - Haze Lost - Spriggan - Spriggan Mist The Pass - Gryphon - Gryphon The Lake - Stuckfish - Stuckfish
