The songs for the new, full, concept album have all been written, however we recently realised that we had too many songs for one CD but not enough for two; so Elaine has written a “back to real life” song and we plan to add 2 of the EP songs to finish off - as bonus - but appropriate - tracks. Our process is for Elaine and Keith to demo map the songs at Keith’s music studio and a number of them are mapped already. This allows us to get the tempos we want and provides a guide track. During the demo mapping stage, quite a bit of composition and arrangement goes on. The band are shown the demos and we pick some numbers to rehearse together, for performing live. The next stage is for Paul to lay down his drum tracks, in his bespoke recording studio (shown above) on the numbers we have rehearsed and fixed arrangements for. Keith lays down his bass tracks in his own studio and sends them to Paul to add to the master recording. We have a number of the new album tracks already at this stage. The next steps are to get the rest of the band over to Paul’s recording studio to record their instruments and vocals.

Demo Mapping
Elaine went over to Paul’s and recorded her guitar on the numbers we have fixed arrangements for and will soon be recording her vocals too. She has also been over to Keith’s to do more arranging, composing and demo mapping on the rest of the songs, which are in various stages of readiness. Keith has been experimenting and composing some fantastic soundscapes, including a fabulous Stuckfish generated gong sound! Elaine is progressing with artwork for the album too, with concept drawings of the Stuckfish. See the album story for the drawing. She had discussions with Philip Stuckey, from the band as to the nature of this magical creature and he advised her that a sort of fish version of a unicorn would be appropriate. The Stuckfish has become a very significant part of the story with some amazing powers! Take a look and have a read here. The team will now have good demo versions of the songs involving the four other prog rock bands and their magical creatures, so and they are having a listen and adding some of their own musical uniqueness to the numbers to help really bring their magical characters to life! In order in the story we have:- Song - Magical Creature - Band Into The Woods - Treebeard - Haze Lost - Spriggan - Spriggan Mist The Pass - Gryphon - Gryphon The Lake - Stuckfish - Stuckfish

The songs for the new, full, concept album have all been written. We recently decided that it would be too long for one CD but too short for a double CD, so Elaine has written a “back to real life” song and 2 of the EP tracks dealing with stresses in life will also be added.
