Piers
Piers is an outstanding electric guitar player. He has been playing
both electric and acoustic guitars for nearly 50 years. He was chosen
to perform at the launches of both Steve Hutchinson’s album, “A
Different Sky” and Surya Cooper’s album “Mischief”. During the
pandemic he played a considerable amount with online bands,
covering many different jazz, pop and rock songs. Prior to this he
played acoustic guitar for a Lithuanian singer and the duo covered
songs ranging from jazz standards to Russian ballads.
Probably his favourite guitar is a Stratocaster he assembled from
parts and he mainly uses one of several Tech 21 Fly Rig 5s, which are
small, light, fit into a guitar case, can be plugged into an amplifier or
a mixing desk and are much better for his back than a guitar
amplifier! Sometimes he brings other effects units. He says,
“Sometimes I know how they work too!”
