                Kindred Spirit Band Members
  

Elaine Samuels, the band's founder, has an electrifying, five piece prog folk rock band, called "Kindred Spirit", featuring super musicians playing wind instruments, violin, guitar, bass and drums. We have sharing players to make sure we can be available, as some band members play in other groups or have demanding day jobs to pay the bills (as a musician's income is erratic).

Our band members comprise of exciting new violin player Martin Ash, excellent wind players Catherine Dimmock or Stevie Mitchell, Mike Hislop on bass and, on drums, either the mighty Les Binks (ex drummer with Judas Priest and Roger Glover - to name a few) or experienced professional, Aleem Saleh. The band have played, to the delight of audiences (see our "Gig Reviews" link below), at  Art Centres (for example Windsor, Farnham Maltings, Cranleigh), theatres (for example Leatherhead and The Kenton), festivals (for example Weyfest) and clubs (for example the Cavern Club in Liverpool, where they impressed Julia Lennon, who came back stage to compliment them on their performance).

The band play Elaine's, powerful, original songs alongside one or two of their own takes of favourite classics from bands like Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac depending on the gig. They are known particularly for their lovely vocal harmonies, the intriguing songs, foot stomping jigs and reels and exciting musical duels between the two lead players.
